“…and all at once, summer collapsed into fall.”

Late summer
That quote in my subject line by Oscar Wilde very aptly summarizes what I feel this time of year! It's been a busy summer, as usual, and a hot, dry one here in Eastern Oregon.  I did notice, though, that this morning was cooler, and there are more 70s and 80s in our forecast. This means Fall is just around the corner.  I love Fall, I just wish it lasted as long as summer does!  I know, technically, it does.  But weather-wise it does not.  As we “collapse into Fall”, let’s see what changes came during the summer, and what we can look forward to!

What have I been doing this summer you ask?  OK, maybe you didn't ask, but I'm going to tell you anyway! 😊  My husband and I were able to get in three camping trips, with at least one more coming up, and that's three more than we did last summer.  That makes us "happy campers" in more ways than one!  LOL.  Summer has historically been our concert season, but this year all of our big concerts are at the end of the year, starting in October.  We did get to one, though - Foghat (did I just reveal something about my age?), but the best part of that concert was seeing Petty Fever, an award-winning Tom Petty tribute band from Oregon and they were phenomenal!  We are huge Tom Petty fans, and Frank Murray, the lead singer, does Mr. Petty justice.  If you live on the West coast, go see Petty Fever!  RIP Tom, you are greatly missed. Death is a change none of us like, but to which none of us are immune. 😢

Speaking of concerts, my stepson is in a local band--Eleven.44--and they are amazing.  They write their own songs, which are really good.  After a few setbacks this summer that resulted in them firing their manager and taking things into their own hands (a change they couldn't have anticipated), they are scheduled for a show at the Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood next month!  To say we are proud would be an understatement.  We just booked our plane tickets, and we will be there front and center!

Most of the summer has been busy with work.  I am honored and privileged to be part of a fabulous team of Virtual Assistants, Susan Sullivan Virtual Assistance. Susan's husband, Scott, owns Scott Sullivan & Associates, for whom I also work as part of the VA team.  This summer, Scott and Susan took on a HUGE endeavor when they started Inspired News Radio.  INR is definitely a labor of love for my friends with a big learning curve!  It's the definition of CHANGE.  In the spring, we could never have predicted this was going to happen but happen it did!  The station is growing every day, and I encourage you to check it out, sign up for their mailing list, friend them on Facebook (@inspirednewsradio), follow them on Twitter (@INRtalkradio), and be part of this positive and motivating family!  It'll make you smile on a daily basis.

And, as always with change is the changing seasons, as I mentioned at the start. Summer starts collapsing into Fall. I feel it in the air.  It stirs up memories like songs do, that feeling, and for me, many are to a Tom Petty tune.  Memories of football games and sweatshirts.  Anticipating great things ahead for the new school year. Octobers at the coast, my favorite time to go.  Slowing down and being restful.  I love how Fall makes me feel, I love the colors of it, and the magic of it.

What does Fall mean to you?  What changes do you look forward to?  I'd love to hear from you!

Happy Fall!
